Artist biography : Joanne Lim (b.1982, Singapore) is drawn to the power of words. In her practice, Lim uses words as parameters to imagine and express form. Her spontaneous and thoughtful works deviate from conventional calligraphic forms and are imbued with a distinctive sensibility. Apart from painting, she conducts workshops with a focus on calligraphy (The Letter J Supply). Her work has been exhibited at The Esplanade, The Arts House, The Ascott and featured in various publications.
